 The relative size of palm and fingers is assessed to gain a quick and sharp insight in inclination of the person towards work.
To assess the comparison, the fingers have to be turned downwards towards the palm.
If the fingers cover 3/4th of the entire palm, then the fingers and palm are in proportion.
If the fingers reach more than that, fingers are said to be long.
If the fingers do not reach even the 3/4th, the fingers are considered short.
 For long fingers
The person with these kind of fingers is detailed oriented. They take full consideration for a lot of thinking and logic while doing a work. They are perfectionist, and are not satisfied when they are unable to accomplish flawless work. For them doing a proper work is more important than a deadline. They seem slow, `cause they take so many things in account and painstakingly improvise on the work done.`
For short fingers
People with comparatively short fingers are quick thinkers and doers. They don`t take much time for thinking and usually avoid the details. For them getting the work done fast is more important than getting it perfect. They leave the fine points behind, but create a pace at their workplace.
 For balanced length of fingers
Such people are balanced people. Though they don`t miss the broader picture of any work, they also account for necessary details. Their decisions and thoughts are very reliable.
Shape of Hands
The basic shapes of hands are classified according to the element ruling a person`s personality.
Earth Hands
These are the useful hands. The palm is square with short knotty fingers. People having this type of hands are practical, hard working and down to earth. There are usually few lines and Lines are deeply embedded.
Such people are industrious and fixed in their purpose and thinking. They are very fond of nature.
Fingertips usually carry arches on them.
Many of labor related people such as traders and carpenters belong to this category. Sophisticated and evolved earth hands belong to practical and successful artists.
Fire hands
People with such hands have long palm and short fingers (relatively that is).
Lines in the palm are strongly etched and are more in number.
Such people have great deal of zeal in life. They have knack with people. Many of them are quite friendly and extrovert.
People with fire hands are also natural leaders. All of them have good drive and they crave excitement and drama in life.
Water hands
People with water hands have rectangular flowing palm with long fingers. They also have lots of fine line etched in them.
Such people are emotional and perceptive. They become good artists and put emotional depth in whatever they do.
Air hand
Air hands are made of square palms and long fingers. Such people are usually too good with details. Their thinking is lightening sharp and versatile.
Such hands belong to people in need of constant mental stimulation and change.
They have marvelous communication skills, and usually excel in media industry.
Most of the time, the hand`s size is the mixture of the types mentioned above. In that case one should look for the more dominant factor. In unevolved hands, the type is not so discerning. All the hands look same. As we go up the ladder to more sophisticated types, the criterion is more distinguished.
